About the Deputy Regional Administrator for EPA's Region 8 (Mountains and Plains)

Deb Thomas

Deb Thomas currently serves as the Deputy Regional Administrator for EPA's Region 8 office located in Denver, Colorado. She has served in several positions in Region 8 including Assistant Regional Administrator (ARA) for the Office of Technical and Management Services; Deputy ARA for the Office of Partnerships and Regulatory Assistance; Water Program Director; Permits Unit Chief; Permits Unit Team Leader; and Associate Pretreatment Coordinator. She began her EPA career as an Enforcement Officer. She has extensive programmatic experience in environmental protection, as well as internal operations experience, managing over 500 employees.

Deb received a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Resources Engineering from Humboldt State University (Arcata, California) and a Master's Degree in Engineering from the University of Florida in Gainesville.
