About the Director of the Office of Administrative and Executive Services (OAES)

Lance McCluney

Lance McCluney serves as the Director of the Office of Administrative and Executive Services (OAES) in the Office of the Administrator and prior to that he was the Assistant Director for Resources Management.

Prior to joining OAES, Lance was a Senior Analyst in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) providing budget planning, formulation and execution services. While there, he served as the executive planner for the Annual EPA Budget Technical Workshop and on the Agency’s Laboratory Workgroup.

Lance started his career at EPA in 2004 in the Office of Air and Radiation’s Office of Air Quality Planning and Standards as a statistician analyzing ozone pollution and particulate matter, including time as an EPA intern at Research Triangle Park.

Lance holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro, and a Master of Business Administration from Grand Canyon University.

In addition to being an avid baker, Lance also taught eighth grade math at the Ferndale Middle School in High Point, North Carolina.
