Visiting the Pacific Southwest (Region 9) Office

EPA’s Pacific Southwest (Region 9) implements and enforces federal environmental laws in Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, the Pacific Islands, and 148 tribal nations.

The main office of EPA’s Pacific Southwest Region (Region 9) is located at 75 Hawthorne Street in the South of Market area of downtown San Francisco. The public may visit us for conferences, meetings, and to use the Environmental Information Center.

All visitors are required to show recognizable state or federal identification (such as a state-issued ID, driver’s license, passport or military ID) and pass through airport-style security screening.

The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Authority Trip Planner can provide transit options for our office at 75 Hawthorne Street, San Francisco.

The office is about .4 miles (8 minute walk) from the Montgomery Street Station serving Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) and San Francisco Muni. There are also numerous bus lines. The closest CalTrain station is the San Francisco Station at Fourth and King Streets, which is a 1 mile (20 minute walk).
