A meeting of the National Advisory Committee for Acute Exposure Guideline Levels for Hazardous Substances (NAC/AEGL Committee) was held on September 14–16, 1998, in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. At this meeting, the NAC/AEGL Committee addressed the various aspects of the acute toxicity and the development of Acute Exposure Guideline Levels (AEGLs) for the following chemicals: carbon tetrachloride, ethylene oxide, furan, hydrogen sulfide, iron pentacarbonyl, isobutyronitrile, methacrylonitrile, nitrogen oxides, piperidine, proprionitrile, propylene oxide, and propyleneimine.
