This document illustrates how the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Brownfields Program empowers states, communities, and other stakeholders to work together to prevent, assess, safely clean up, and sustainably reuse brownfields. Under this program, EPA’s Brownfields Sustainability Pilots are providing technical assistance to support communities in achieving greener, more sustainable assessment, cleanup, and redevelopment at their brownfields projects.
