We are pleased to announce that 149 communities were selected to receive 151 grants totaling $64.6 million in EPA Brownfields funding through our Multipurpose, Assessment, and Cleanup (MAC) Grants to assess, clean up and redevelop underutilized properties while protecting public health and the environment. These funds will expand the ability of communities to recycle vacant and abandoned properties for new, productive reuses.
“EPA’s Brownfields Grants provide significant benefits to communities across the country where environmental cleanup and economic redevelopment are most needed" said EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler.
