CAA Part 71 Air Operating Permits in EPA's South Central Region

The CAA in Part 71 sets forth the comprehensive Federal air quality operating permit program. EPA issues Title V operating permits under Part 71 for:

  • Indian Country;  
  • Outer Continental Shelf (beyond the State’s seaward boundaries);
  • EPA’s objection to a state issued part 70 operating permit and the state does not fully respond to EPA’s objections; and,
  • A state’s Part 70 Operating Permit Program that is expired or withdrawn.

Permit applications and other permitting related documents for submittal to Region 6 may be sent electronically in a searchable Portable Document Format (PDF) or Microsoft Word, excel, or other database documents by email.

Operating Permits for Indian Country in South Central Region

  • EPA’s South Central Region (Region 6) is the permitting authority for the operating permits program for 66 tribes.
