Region 8 Title V Program Evaluations

Region 8 performs Title V program evaluations of permitting authorities in the Mountains and Plains Region, which consists of the of Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, North Dakota and South Dakota, and the Southern Ute Indian Tribe. To ensure that our oversight responsibilities are met, Region 8 conducts at least one program review each year. In general, we evaluate the overall effectiveness of the planning, permitting, monitoring and compliance and enforcement programs to identify good practices implemented by the state/tribal agency, areas needing improvement within the state/tribal program, and ways in which the EPA can improve its own oversight role.
