Where in the U.S. Can I Work for EPA?

You don’t have to leave your family or friends, or fly across the country, to join EPA.  Only about half of EPA jobs are located in the D.C. metropolitan area.

EPA's headquarters offices are located in:
  • the Federal Triangle area of downtown Washington D.C.,
  • Crystal City, Virginia (D.C. area), and
  • Research Triangle Park, North Carolina.

EPA also conducts work in 10 regional offices headquartered in Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Kansas City, Denver, San Francisco, and Seattle.

EPA labs are scattered across the country and address a wide range of research activity. These labs and national research centers support the environmental policy enacted in each regional office and conduct the experiments and analysis that guide program offices like the Office of Air and Radiation, Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention, and Office of Research and Development.
