Access CDR Data
EPA has collected CDR data since in 1986 (as Inventory Update Reporting or IUR). Collections occur approximately every four years and reporting requirements changed from collection to collection. On this page you can access information from the latest collections, occurring in 2006, 2012, 2016, and 2020. View a summary of CDR requirements for 2006 to 2020.

2020 CDR Data
EPA anticipates publishing 2020 CDR data in early 2021.
2016 CDR Data (updated May 2020)
During the 2016 reporting cycle, CDR information was provided by manufacturers (including importers) for 8,707 individual chemicals.
Reporting thresholds for the 2016 CDR were triggered based on the volumes for any calendar year since the last principle reporting year. For 2016, reporting was triggered based on the production volume for 2012, 2013, 2014 or 2015. In contrast, reporting for 2012 was triggered based only on the production volume for 2011.
For the 2016 CDR, a lower reporting threshold of 2,500 lbs. or more became effective for chemical substances subject to certain TSCA actions. In addition, unless partially exempted, processing and use information was required for all reported chemical substances at the 25,000-lb. threshold (or 2,500 lbs. if subject to certain TSCA actions), whereas for the 2012 CDR, processing and use information was only required for chemicals with production volumes of 100,000 lbs. or greater.

2012 CDR Data
During the 2012 reporting cycle, CDR information was provided by manufacturers (including importers) for 7,970 individual chemicals.

2006 IUR Data
Before August 2011 the CDR Rule was called the Inventory Update Reporting (IUR) Rule. The change was effective with the publication of the Inventory Update Reporting Modifications; Chemical Data Reporting Final Rule in August 2011.
In addition, data prior to 2006 covered organic chemicals manufactured (including imported) in volumes of 10,000 pounds or more at an individual site. Information was limited to basic manufacturing data, such as a chemical's production volume.
- Get the non-confidential 2006 downloadable database The 2006 IUR data summary report includes information about chemicals manufactured or imported in quantities of 25,000 pounds or more at a single site during calendar year 2005. In addition to the basic manufacturing information collected in previous reporting cycles, the 2006 cycle is the first time EPA collected information to characterize exposure during manufacturing, processing and use of organic chemicals. The 2006 cycle also is the first time manufacturers of inorganic chemicals were required to report basic manufacturing information.
