Chesapeake Bay TMDL

EPA Interim Evaluation of 2012-2013 Milestone Progress in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed

In May 2013, EPA provided an interim evaluation of Bay jurisdictions' and Federal Agencies' progress towards meeting their 2012-2013 milestones. Bay jurisdictions include Delaware, Maryland, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia. These interim evaluations provide a mid-point check on jurisdictions' and agencies' progress and recognize achievements made during 2012.

Interim evaluations also provide suggestions for maintaining progress towards the Watershed Implementation Plan goals and for developing the 2014-2015 milestone commitments. These milestones represent key check-in points on the way to having all pollution reduction measures in place by 2025 to restore the Bay and its tidal rivers. By 2017, controls should be in place that would achieve 60 percent of the necessary pollutant reductions.
