On August 1, 2011, EPA provided planning targets for nitrogen, phosphorus and sediment for the Phase II Watershed Implementation Plans (WIPs) of the Chesapeake Bay TMDL. The Phase II WIPs are expected to provide strategies necessary to have practices in place by 2017 that would result in 60 percent of the necessary nitrogen, phosphorus and sediment reductions needed by 2025.
