Virtual Public Hearings on the Proposal: A Holistic Approach to Closure Part B

EPA is proposing changes to the closure provisions in the 2015 final rule for the disposal of coal combustion residuals from electric utilities and independent power producers. In addition to accepting written comments, EPA held two virtual or online public hearings. The virtual public hearings provided interested persons the opportunity to present information, comments or views concerning EPA's proposal.

General Information

EPA held two virtual public hearings about this proposal on April 7, 2020 and April 9, 2020. The hearings were convened at 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time (ET) and concluded at 6:00 p.m. ET. Oral testimony was limited to five (5) minutes for each person. A verbatim transcript of the hearing will be included in the docket for this action. EPA accepted written public comments through Regulations.gov.
