Economic Analysis of the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Electronic Reporting Final Rule

The final National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Electronic Reporting Rule will require regulated entities and state and federal regulators to use existing, available information technology to electronically report data currently required by the NPDES permit program in lieu of filing written paper reports.

This Economic Analysis (EA) quantifies the costs and savings of this proposed rule, while acknowledging many of the qualitative benefits that will result from its implementation.
