EPA Certified Wood Heater Database

To improve the accessibility and usefulness of the EPA Certified Wood Heater List, the Agency has developed a new fully searchable EPA Certified Wood Heater Database.  The database contains information about heaters that are in compliance with the 2015 New Source Performance Standard (NSPS) for New Residential Wood Heaters, New Residential Hydronic Heaters and Forced-Air Furnaces at 40 CFR Part 60 (Subpart AAA).

Users can search the database by creating their own queries.

  • Manufacturer or model name;
  • Heater type (i.e., catalytic or non-catalytic);
  • Efficiencies;
  • Emissions rates; and
  • Carbon monoxide values.

In addition to providing the above wood heater information, the database contains information regarding the fuel type used and whether the heater is certified as meeting the 2020 “Step 2” emission limits.

In transitioning to this database, EPA welcomes feedback from all users on the ease of using the database and the information provided as well as suggestions for future updates.  We also appreciate wood heater manufacturers reviewing their information contained in the database to ensure accuracy.  All comments may be sent to Rafael Sanchez (sanchez.rafael@epa.gov).
