This guidance provides clarification on the data entry and use of single event violations (SEV) in Integrated Compliance Information System-National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (ICIS-NPDES) so that the data elements are maintained in a nationally consistent way. Regions (and states that are submitting SEV data to ICIS-NPDES) should follow this Guide to ensure that information in the national system represents a common understanding of what each field means.
