Cross-State Air Pollution Rule (CSAPR) Fact Sheets

The CSAPR requires fossil fuel-fired electric generating units at coal-, gas-, and oil-fired facilities in 27 states in the eastern half of the U.S. to reduce emissions to help downwind areas attain fine particle and/or ozone NAAQS.  To speed implementation, EPA adopted Federal Implementation Plans, or FIPs, for each of the states covered by this rule. EPA is encouraging states to submit State Implementation Plans (SIPs).

Below is a series of fact sheets to assist states in the development of their SIPs.
