Public Notice: RCRA Part B Renewal Permit for the Naval Submarine Base New London (SUBASENLON), Groton, Connecticut

The State of Connecticut has been authorized by the U.S. EPA to administer the RCRA Hazardous Waste Program in lieu of the Federal Government.  Therefore, hazardous waste facilities in Connecticut are subject to and must comply with all applicable Connecticut hazardous waste requirements found in Section 22a-449(c)-100 through 119 of the Regulations of Connecticut State Agencies (RCSA) which incorporates federal and state requirements.  Due to COVID-19 Public Health Emergency, the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) is providing electronics files for public review when in person reviews are not possible.

U.S. EPA is assisting the CT DEEP in facilitating access to these electronic files for the purpose of this notice.

Summary

A public notice of Draft Permit No. DEEP-HWM-095-005, Connecticut Hazardous Waste permit renewal to operate a hazardous waste storage facility under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) for Naval Submarine Base New London (SUBASENLON) (EPA ID No CT4170022020).  The public comment period is July 27, 2020 to September 10, 2020.  The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) will host a virtual Public information meeting via zoom on August 26, 2020 at 6:30 pm.  Advance registration is required.
