On June 1, 2020, the EPA finalized the "Clean Water Act Section 401 Certification Rule" to implement the water quality certification process consistent with the text and structure of the CWA. The EPA hosted webinars for State and Tribal certifying authorities to help explain the key elements of the final rule on August 25, 2020; September 8, 2020; and September 9, 2020.
