EPCRA Training Opportunities

Does EPA offer any training for the non-313 Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA) reporting requirements?

EPA’s self-paced online training course, called “EPCRA (non-313) Online Training for States, Tribes, LEPCs” is designed to help state, local, and tribal agencies understand the requirements of EPCRA and its regulations. Participants in this course will learn about a facilities’ reporting requirements, such as providing information on the storage and releases of hazardous chemicals, and how state and local agencies should use that information to prepare and protect the community from chemical emergencies. Each lesson contains text, interactive exercises, interactive Flash-based exercises, and knowledge checks. In addition, EPA offers an online Tier2 Submit training tutorial that provides a primer on how to complete a Tier II form using EPA’s Tier2 Submit software. Finally, EPA Region 1 often conducts free EPCRA compliance assistance webinar-based workshops. These workshops provide information on the various EPCRA planning and reporting obligations.
