Training Opportunities for Water and Wastewater Disaster Funding

Utilities need to carefully and clearly document damage, response, repair and mitigation actions to obtain disaster funding. You must also develop projects for reimbursement.

Utilities should consider training:
  • Response staff to properly document the damage and repairs
  • Management to understand the types and requirements of the disaster funding programs
  • Accounting staff to track the correct types of information in the correct format
  • Procurement staff to follow emergency procurement procedures

Training lessens the likelihood of errors or problems occurring. Utilities can use Fed FUNDS to develop the recommended training.
