Fish Advisory Contacts and Partners

EPA partners with states, territories, tribes and other federal agencies and organizations to collect and study fish tissue data and to inform the development of fish and shellfish advisories and safe eating guidelines. EPA focuses primarily on advisories and studies on locally caught fish.

Other agencies, such as FDA and NOAA's National Marine Fisheries Service, focus on aquaculture and management of commercial fisheries.

Fish Advisory Contacts

States, Territories and Tribes

EPA maintains a list of the primary contacts and fish advisory programs in each state, territory or tribe that can help you learn more about local fish advisories.

Interstate and Stakeholder Organizations

Interstate and stakeholder organizations can be valuable partners to the public and to fish advisory and fish tissue analysis professionals. For example, these groups often conduct training and conferences, foster an exchange of information between groups and present strategies to advance the science of fish tissue data collection and analysis.
