The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued a final rule on December 15, 2017 to relax the federal volatility (RVP) standard applicable to gasoline supplied to the 11 Louisiana parishes of Beauregard, Calcasieu, Jefferson, Lafayette, Lafourche, Orleans, Pointe Coupee, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. James, and St. Mary from 7.8 pounds per square inch (psi) to 9.0 psi during the summer ozone season.
