GreenChill Store Certifications

Since the program inception in 2008 through 2019, the GreenChill Store Certification Program for Food Retailers has issued more than 1,800 certifications to over 830 individual stores. Stores can achieve Platinum-, Gold-, or Silver-level certification. Learn more about the certification criteria. Certifications are valid for one year; stores must reapply for certification every year to maintain their status. Many GreenChill Food Retail Partners  have GreenChill Certified Stores, but it is not necessary to be a Partner to certify a store. Any food retail store (e.g., supermarket and grocery store) in the United States can apply.

In calendar year 2019, there were 582 certified stores (including 340 Platinum, 66 Gold and 176 Silver) across 43 states and the District of Columbia. The number of certified stores in 2019 increased by 56% from 2018. Find GreenChill Certified Stores near you in the map and table below.
