As mandated in Executive Order (EO) 13101, Greening the Government Through Waste Prevention, Recycling, and Federal Acquisition, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has developed guidance on environmentally preferable purchasing (EPP), outlining principles federal agencies should use to identify products and services that have a reduced effect on human health and the environment.
