Sustainable Marketplace: Greener Products and Services

Review of Federal E-Procurement Systems

This document provides an overview on how to improve the integration of sustainability requirements into federal e-procurement systems.

This document makes it easier for procurement officers:

  • Find and refer to sustainability requirements in the Federal Acquisitions Regulation (FAR)
  • Integrate these requirements into requests for proposals
  • Improve tracking of their sustainability-related activities

IEc reviewed two e-procurement systems widely used by US Federal agencies to support their procurement processes – PRISM (from Compusearch Software Systems, Inc.) and Automated Acquisition Management System (from Distributed Solutions Inc, or DSI).
