EPA’s Region 9 Office is located in the Hawthorne Plaza; this region covers Nevada, California, Arizona, Hawaii, Samoa, Guam and 147 federally recognized tribes in the Pacific Southwest.

Sustainable Features

  • Hawthorne Plaza received the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED® Gold for Existing Buildings (version 2.0) certification in May 2009 and received LEED Platinum for Existing Buildings (version 2009) in August 2014.
  • EPA also renovated its office space and achieved LEED Platinum for Commercial Interiors (version 2009) certification in November 2016.
  • The building has received the ENERGY STAR® annually since 2008, most recently in 2018 with a score of 98.
