Pre-incident Planning for Waste Management Documents

The Pre-incident Planning for Waste Management poster and brochure are documents that explain and visualize the importance of preparing for incident waste in advance of catastrophic incidents, regardless of the hazard.

The poster and brochure illustrate that catastrophic incidents can generate large amounts and varieties of waste, and that taking small but significant steps prior to an incident can have a big impact on the overall response.

The poster quantifies the amount of waste from two specific, real-life incidents and lists eight steps that emergency planners can take to prepare for waste in advance.

In addition to what the poster contains, the brochure also shows the four-step planning process to help communities prepare for managing waste from an incident and explains ways that planning helps.
