The policy statement, a part of the Federal Register Notice of Availability for Update V, details Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) commitment to define language regarding method status and the recommended version of the method to use. Additionally, the policy statement provides information regarding EPA’s method numbering system and the process used for method publication. The Statement also discusses the Methods Innovation Rule (MIR), the Flexible Approach to Environmental Measurement, as well as SW-846 methods status definitions.
