In 2009, the 2020 Corrective Action Baseline was introduced. The list focused on the facilities where EPA and authorized states focused their attention to achieve EPA’s aspirational goal of 95 percent complete by the year 2020.

The names on these lists indicate current facility owners, who may or may not have caused the contamination. Cases exist where a former owner agreed to be responsible for the cleanup, but unfortunately the database cannot identify these instances.
