Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Facility Assessment completed in February of 1991 identfied one area as an Area of Concern (AOC).
Cleanup Status
In September 2006 the United States EPA Region 3 and the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental jointly completed a site inspection and records review. Such actions have included soil and water sampling of the AOC. Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) issued its Final Decision regarding the Facility September 30, 2010, stating that Corrective Action was Complete without Controls.
Site Description
The facility is located at 1886 Lynnbury Road, Dover, Delaware on 50 acres in a rural community. PPG Industries, Inc. constructed the facility in 1975 to manufacture latex paint. PPG continues to operate a 24-hour facility to produce, package and warehouse latex paint onsite prior to shipment.
All of the solid waste management units at this facility were recommended for no further action, as they were found to have no known impact on any media. The only area that was investigated for its potential impact to soil and groundwater was Area of Concern (AOC) One - Railroad Loading/Unloading zone . There has been no evidence or record of un-permitted releases.

There is no known impact to groundwater, surface water, soil or sediment, so human health is not impacted.

Institutional controls were not required for this site.

The facility is under continued use.
Site Responsibility at this Facility
RCRA Corrective Action activities at this facility are being conducted under the direction of the Delaware DNREC with assistance from EPA Region 3.
