Cleanup Activities
The facility achieved a "Remedy Construction Complete" determination on September 30, 2013. All stored hazardous waste was removed from the site, and the on-site building was decontaminated. The waste storage and treatment tanks were "clean closed" in accordance with RCRA regulations.

Facility Description
This facility operated from 1986 to 1999 as a hazardous waste treatment, storage, and disposal facility, receiving waste materials containing volatile organic compounds and metals. The facility also accepted metal hydroxide sludge, cyanide-bearing solutions, and other corrosive solutions. The wastes were processed through the facility's treatment system, which consisted of filter presses, pH neutralization tanks, and reactor vessels. Wastes were also managed in a greater than 90 day storage tank.

This approximately 1 acre facility is located in an industrial area of Warwick, RI. Geology in this area has been observed to be dominated by arenite and shale formations.
