Cleanup Status
Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP) visited the MSC Materials and Solution Group facility and met with company representatives on September 21, 2006. EPA is reviewing existing environmental information to determine if further investigation is required. EPA will focus first on the health and groundwater impacts, if any, presented by the facility. Once EPA completes this review process, an environmental indicator determination will be prepared and posted to this website.
Site Description
The MSC Facility is situated on approximately 8.25 acres of land in the central area of Falls Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, located 2.5 miles south of Morrisville. In 1973, Prior Coated Metals began operating a metal coil coating facility at the Site. From 1983 until 1998, Pre Finish Metals owned and operated the Site. MSC purchased the Site in 1998 and is the current owner. The Facility is also identified as MSC Engineered Materials and Solutions Group.
Contaminants at this Facility
The latest groundwater sampling event was conducted on April 2, 1984 at six monitoring wells on site. Elevated levels of chromium, lead and zinc were detected. Also during 1984, one constituent of potential indoor air concern, chloroform, was identified.

The need for Institutional Controls has yet to be determined.

The facility's future use is yet to be determined.
Site Responsibility at this Facility
Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Corrective Action activities at this facility have been conducted under the direction of EPA Region 3.
