Federal Register Notice: Final Rule for Statistical Methods for Evaluating Groundwater Monitoring Data

EPA regulations, promulgated under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), require groundwater monitoring to detect contamination of groundwater at permitted hazardous waste land disposal facilities (title 40 of the Code of Federal Regulations section 264.90 et seq. Part 264 Subpart F). The amendments finalized in this notice specifiy five statistical methods more appropriate to groundwater monitoring than the Cochran's Approximation to the Behrens-Fisher Student's t-test (CABF) method and outline sampling procedures and performance standards.
