Federal Register Notice: Identification and Listing of Hazardous Waste from Wood Preserving Operations

EPA amended its regulations under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) by listing as hazardous three categories of wastes from wood preserving operations that use chlorophenolic, creosote, and/or inorganic (arsenical and chromium) preservatives. This ruling finalized portions of a proposed rule published by EPA on December 30, 1988, Volume 53 of the Federal Register (FR) 53282. The ruling also includes permitting and interim status standards for drip pads used to assist in the collection of treated wood drippage.
