Federal Register Notice: Proposed Rule on the Identification and Listing of Hazardous Waste, Notification Requirements and Reportable Quantity Adjustments

In this action, EPA proposed to amend its hazardous waste identification regulations under Subtitle C of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) by expanding the Toxicity Characteristic to include additional chemicals and by introducing a new extraction procedure to be used in the Toxicity Characteristic. EPA also proposed to incorporate the changes made pursuant to this rule into the lists of hazardous substances under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) of 1980.
