EPA proposed new standards and amendments to existing standards that would further reduce air emissions from hazardous waste management units subject to regulation under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) as amended. New standards are proposed for hazardous waste treatment, storage, and disposal facilities (TSDF) subject to permitting requirements under RCRA subtitle C. EPA proposed amendments that would add the relevant emission control requirements specified by the air emission standards under RCRA for certain TSDF equipment. EPA also proposed an amendment to Title 40 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Section 270.4 that would require the owner or operator of a TSDF with a permit to comply with the air emission standards for interim status facilities until EPA reviews or reissues the facility's permit.
