Federal Register Notice: Proposed Rule on Standards for Liability Coverage Applicable to Owners and Operators of Hazardous Waste Treatment, Storage and Disposal Facilities

In this proposal, EPA considered whether to revise the financial responsibility requirements in Title 40 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) sections 264.147 and 265.147, 265.151 (i) and (j), and requested comments on the availability of insurance to satisfy the existing liability coverage requirements for owners and operators of hazardous waste facilities and on methods for the Agency to address potential restrictions in the availability of coverage.
