2-(2'-Hydroxy-5'-methylphenyl)benzotriazole is commonly known as Drometrizole and is most commonly used as an UV light absorber helping to stabilize and protect plastics, polyesters, celluloses, acrylates, dyes, rubber, synthetic and natural fibers, waxes, detergent solutions, and orthodontic adhesives against discoloration and deterioration.
