The Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ) is actively working with EPA and officials from Denka Performance Elastomer (DPE) to address the chloroprene issues in LaPlace, Louisiana. LDEQ staff have met with DPE officials and requested that the company formulate modeling, implement a a monitoring plan, and develop actions to reduce emissions.
From March 2 through March 9, 2016, LDEQ and EPA collected preliminary air samples in multiple locations surrounding DPE. Learn more.
