Region 3 Land Reuse Assessment Reports

The Land Reuse Assessment Reports outlines the history and current status of remediated properties in Region 3. These reports show the transformation of former contaminated sites into community assets. The Summary of the Current Revitalization of Brownfields Sites where EPA Funded Targeted Brownfields Assessments (TBAs) in EPA Region 3 (2008) reveals that 64 percent of TBA sites are currently being reused or planned for reuse. Plans for redevelopment at these sites include an outdoor classroom, residences and office space intended to revitalize riverfront areas, and manufacturing operations. The Assessment of the Current Land Use at  EPA Region 3’s Emergency Response & Removal Sites (2007) provides information on 109 Superfund Response and Removal Sites. The majority of acres that were impacted by contamination were returned to their original use after a Response and Removal action.
