LMOP's efforts to promote landfill gas (LFG) recovery and use extend beyond U.S. borders. Internationally, LMOP works with organizations to promote LFG recovery and use by offering a variety of outreach, education, and technical assistance services to countries interested in LFG energy project development.

GMI is an international public-private initiative that advances cost-effective, near-term methane abatement, recovery, and use as a clean energy resource in five sectors: agriculture, coal mines, municipal solid waste, oil and gas systems, and wastewater.
