Summary

Site Update – Lead Cleanup

EPA has awarded a contract to begin remediation (cleanup) activities in the Spring City/Spurgeon area of Newton County, Missouri. Residents that previously provided EPA with permission to clean up their property will be contacted individually. The area has been affected by historic lead and zinc mining and milling wastes, and is part of the Tri-State Mining District.
