The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 7 announces a Record of Decision (ROD) Amendment for Operable Unit 1 (OU1) Wainwright Remedial Soil of the Valley Park TCE Superfund Site. The site is in the city of Valley Park, Missouri, which is in St. Louis County approximately 15 miles southwest of the city of St. Louis. The site consists of two contaminant source areas and an area-wide groundwater plume. The main contaminants of concern are tetrachloroethylene (PCE) and trichloroethylene (TCE).

In the ROD Amendment, finalized by EPA on Nov. 16, 2020, EPA describes the rationale for selecting the remedy and responds to comments received during the public comment period.

EPA has assessed the ability of the public to access this ROD Amendment through an internet-based repository and has determined that the local community has this ability. As a result, the Administrative Records are available on EPA’s website (see Site Documents & Data).
