Introduction to Mold and Mold Remediation for Environmental and Public Health Professionals

This course provides an overview of mold prevention and mold remediation. It is based on EPA's voluntary March 2001 guidance document Mold Remediation in Schools and Commercial Buildings. Individuals who may be interested in this course, or may want to refer to this course include:

• Public health and environmental health professionals who are involved with mold issues
• Building managers
• Custodians
• Remediators
• Contractors
• Other professionals who respond to mold problems

Please note that the course and the document on which it is based provide guidelines; other cleaning and remediation methods may be preferred by some professionals. This course does not cover all situations and all potentially useful methods or techniques. The absence of a method or technique from this course does not indicate or imply that it is not effective.
