MOVES and Related Models

I just installed MOVES2014b, and when I try to open it, it is prompting me for database login credentials. What do I do?

This problem is indicative that the wrong version of MySQL Server was chosen during the MOVES installation. A quick way to check which version was installed is to open the "MySQL Data" shortcut on your desktop (if that option was selected during the MOVES installation).

If the path to the MySQL Data folder includes "MySQL Server 8.0", then you have the wrong version. If this is the case, you will first need to uninstall all products associated with latest version of MySQL (including the MySQL Installer). Then go to the MySQL 5.7 InstallerExit page and download the "mysql-installer-community" file (the larger offline option). Do not download the smaller web option, which will install a newer version of MySQL Server that is not compatible with MOVES2014b. Execute the mysql-installer-community file and follow the onscreen prompts to install MySQL Server 5.7.
