Summary

Public Comment Period for Partial Deletion of Site From NPL

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 7 announces the partial deletion of the Omaha Lead Superfund Site from the National Priorities List (NPL) and invites the public to comment on the site.

Written comments will be accepted during the 30-day public comment period for this site, which begins May 12, 2020, and ends June 11, 2020. The public may submit their comments to the EPA contact person listed below prior to the close of the comment period, as well as questions or requests about site information or the NPL deletion process:

EPA and the state of Nebraska, through the Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy, determined that all appropriate response actions under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) and other lead abatement activities at 117 properties have been completed.

EPA has assessed the ability of the public to access the Administrative Record through an internet-based repository and has determined that the local community has this ability. The Administrative Record for this site will be available on EPA’s website (see Site Documents & Data).
