Under National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit number CO-R042007, the U.S. Air Force Academy is authorized to discharge from all municipal separate storm sewer system outfalls to receiving waters which include Smith Creek, Deadmans Creek, Monument Creek, Monument Branch, West Monument Creek, Kettle Creek, and other waters of the United States within the exterior boundaries of the Air Force Academy in El Paso County, Colorado.
