Mid-Atlantic Regional Implementation Manual for Dredged Material Evaluation for Norfolk and Dam Neck Ocean Disposal Sites

The purpose of this manual is to outline the permit process and the protocol for collecting and analyzing dredged material samples for project sites compared to control and reference sites. This manual will provide the data necessary to document the existing physical, chemical and biological characteristics of sediment and water in the project area. This Mid-Atlantic Regional Implementation Manual (MARIM) is designed to specify evaluation procedures for dredged materials proposed for ocean disposal at the Norfolk and Dam Neck Ocean Dump Sites. This MARIM has been developed by Environmental Protection Agency Region 3 and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Baltimore and Norfolk Districts.
