How EPA Manages the Quality of its Environmental Data
The EPA Quality Program provides requirements for conducting quality management activities for all environmental data collection and environmental technology programs performed by or for the Agency. The primary goal of the program is to ensure that the Agency’s environmental decisions are supported by data of known and documented quality.
- The EPA Quality System provides the framework for planning, implementing, documenting, and assessing work performed by the Agency, and for carrying out required quality assurance and quality control activities.
- Each EPA Program and Regional Office develops and implements its own individual system in support of the EPA Quality System.
- In addition, the program covers implementation of the EPA Information Quality Guidelines.
